One of the more critical, but often overlooked areas for maintaining proper UST facility compliance is verifying the integrity of containment systems, specifically: Under Dispenser Containment Sumps (UDC), Tank Sumps, and Overspill Containment Buckets (Spill Buckets).
These integral components of the UST system are the last line of defense against environmental contamination at a UST facility and are often the weakest structures due to environmental exposure, human abuse, and their non-regulated status in some jurisdictions.
